Community Translations commenced its operations following a wide research into the areas of translations within the Community Services sector. We provide a wide range of translating services to facilitate effective communication between clients and community organisations who envisage disseminating information within many and varied Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds (CALD) groups. Most of our translators have worked or are still working in the Community Services area, therefore the most suitable to undertake the translations of any brochures, newsletters, websites, fliers and any document emanating from a community organisation.
How we differ from many conventional translating agencies?
- We specialise in the provision of translating services to community services organisations;
- We source translators from all over Australia and occasionally overseas to ensure that we get the right person for the task;
- We do not provide a flat rate for the translations, such as $ for 100 words as this doesn't always work in favour of our clients. We obtain quotes from short listed translators that meet the project criteria, are NAATI accredited or recognised, and then provide a detailed quotation to our clients;
- We have found that we can be up to 30% less expensive than large translating agencies;
- We know the area of community services and the financial constraints placed upon them in their endeavours to obtain funding either from Department of Ageing Disability and Home Care (DADHC) or related government agencies;
- The services we provide are not in any way compromised due to less expensive costs. We have minimised our operating costs by leveraging the benefits of an online environment, predominantly handling communications via email;
- We operate from Sydney and provide services across Australia and New Zealand;
- We have already undertaken and successfully delivered many projects for Neighborhood Centres and Migrant Resource Centres;
- We ensure that our translations are undertaken by the right person to avoid additional expenses for proofreading and back-translations. The additional services however are available as add-on options. Desktop publishing and website development is also available through our associates at reasonable rates;
- We provide translating services in the following languages but we are still expanding treading carefully in our selection of professional translators who are not only NAATI accredited but have sufficient knowledge of the Community Services Sector. The languages include Arabic, Assyrian, Korean, Spanish, Italian, Greek, Indonesian, Hindi, Hebrew, Russian, Hungarian, French, Turkish, Chinese (simplified & traditional), Vietnamese, Lao, Dutch, German, Portuguese, Serbian, Bosnian, Croatian, Japanese and any other language upon request.
